Plex Media Server & Win 10 Sleep

I’m writing here now because I have finally reached my wit’s end. For over 12 months, installing Plex on any system running Windows 10 prevents the PC from going into standby. I have read forum posts until my eyes are read, clicked every setting, rebooted thousands of times, to no avail. Across AMD and Intel CPUs, AMD and nVidia GPUs, this issue has persisted. There are dozens, if not hundreds of individual forum posts all over the internet about this issue, AND IT IS STILL NOT FIXED. Type powercfg /requests into a command prompt and there it is! The singular Plex process refusing to cede control of the system.

I have been a Plex pass user for some time and a Plex user for longer. I’m done. I’m angry. I’m finished. Frankly, there’s another ‘f’ word I’d like to throw around to you developers right now. It must be said that this is a preposterous issue to have. You have cost me my time and LITERALLY money trying to resolve this issue. This is so ridiculous, you developers should be EMBARRASSED.

Suffice to say, FORGET YOU.

BTW, the new landing page in the Plex apps BLOWS. I want MY media and MY media ONLY. Do you developers have any idea what your customers actually use your product for??? It seems not. I’m so frustrated and my only recourse is to write an angry post on this forum.

What a joke.

Have you tried turning off the debug logging on your PMS? PMS will constantly log it’s activity which will keep your hard drive busy which keeps your computer on. Turn that off which then will only log errors. If you have no errors, no log info is written, your hard drive stays inactive, and your computer can sleep.
