Is there a way to link media from different library types. For example i Have some movies in a movies library and I also have some of those movies soundtracks in my music library. I would like the soundtrack to be available on the movies info page along with its extras. some kind of link from another library button on the server page would be nice.

Unfortunately this didn’t give the result i am after.
Yes I can assign items to a collection and they will appear in a collection across library types, which is good. But, there are some restrictions to this. Mainly in the music section of the plex libraries, where you can only put an artist into a collection not a specific album. For example if i have the movie poltergeist and its sequels, I can put all the films in the collection and they appear at the top of the collection then I can put Jerry goldsmith in the collection and he will appear in the “artists in Poltergeist collection” section however it will be Jerry and all his other albums that appear there. rather than just the poltergeist album. I am after all the related media to appear with my movie in the same way we can add extras. but at the same time be able to keep the album itself in a separate directory with the other music and in a separate library like music library.
Which is why I think some kind of “link media from another library” option would be nice.
it works perfectly fine for me. I’m using this e.g. to connect my Matrix collection with a Matrix soundtrack (“The Music Revisited”) or my Marvel collection with the Marvel One Shots stored in a separate “Shorts” library.
And yes… you can put individual albums into a collection – not just artists (however not individual songs).

Can I ask what Version of Plex you are running? Im on Server version 1.11.0.4666.
when i go to an Artist page on the main server click on Edit then again on Tags I get the collection field where I can add it to a collection HOWEVER, when i go to an individual album and do the same process (Edit then Tags) all i get it the Genre field and nothing else, the collection field is missing.
Am I doing something stupid?
same version (1.11.0.4666) via Plex Web (3.34.1).
it appears this was introduced alongside the inline collections feature and collections on album level are indeed not yet supported in the Plex Web 3.31.1 which is bundled with the latest PMS beta.
so in order to do this, you need to access your library via https://app.plex.tv/desktop

Thank you for your answer.
You are indeed correct this feature only seems to work if you edit your libraries on the desktop link. Personally i always do my changes to the server directly which is why i have never found this feature.
For the time being i will use the desktop link but it would be nice if the developers could add this to the PMS beta in the near future.
