Associate Music with Movies?

I have got a lot of soundtracks for movies that I have in my Plex Server. I only wish that when I click on a movie and see a soundtrack offer, that it loads the soundtrack from my music collection rather than showing a track list which only offers Tidal previews. I mean, I have the album on my server, in my collection! Why does it not cross communicate? Is it supposed to and I have a configuration wrong somewhere? If it doesn’t do that, is there any way to add a request for this?

The feature you’re referring to is only available with Tidal music.
See “related albums & tracks” in the support article below:

You can however create an actual Collection for both your movie and the related soundtrack to see the OST album as “related media”.

Example:
in this case the album is linked to an actual collection; you could however also have a “collection” for a single movie to link related albums.

Thanks for this! I didn’t realize you could have cross-library collections. I thought a collection only worked for the library you were in. For instance, I have a Star Wars collection, which is in the movie library. I also created a 4k library and have Star Wars movies in there as well, and created a collection there. I also have all the Star Wars soundtracks, but never made a collection for them. Does the music library have collections too? I know they have genres, but I never looked at the collections.

Music libraries support collections too – in a limited way. That is you can create collections for artists and albums (not for individual songs), but there’s no “Collections” tab as you have it in a movie or tv-show library.
I’m currently using those cross-library collections extensively e.g. to group tv-shows that have their own movies (Star Wars, a number of Animes…) or to link “extras” to collections (see “The Matrix Revisited” in the screenshot above; same for “The Pixar Story” which I didn’t want to add as a movie in my regular movie library  )

With regard to backfield’s comment… there’s actually a feature suggestion which pretty much contains the same information we just discussed

Cool. Always nice to learn about new features and ways to do things. I was actually thinking about splitting my TV Shows up to have a separate library for anime and cartoons, to make it easier to browse. Exciting to think of the possibilities!
