We’re a school district and I’m sure that Monday’s live streaming options by nasa and such will cripple our internet. Is there a way to share a single live stream via plex for all our staff/student/teachers to view the livestream with an IPTV plugin or such?
We’d also probably use it for Eagle cams/Giraffe births/etc.
The only way I can think of is if you have some access to it via live tv (either OTA or via hdhomerun prime), but even then, everyone would need a supported client since Plex Web doesn’t support live tv yet.
Otherwise you could share it after the fact
How about https://github.com/Cigaras/IPTV.bundle
Never tried it, don’t know how to set it up and have no idea where you might get an IPTV m3u for the eclipse either, but I hope it at least helps you on your way to getting what you want.
IF I can find a stream compatible with it - will it only use a single connection to the internet and multicast it to all streaming clients? Or does it just connect the client to the stream, therefore pulling tons of connections to the internet side and crippling the internet bandwidth still?
I might do the hdhomerun idea… I have one at home I’m not using.
