I have like 5 users on my plex, is there anyway you can add something like a “message of the day” option or something like old bbs’s used to have to tell them there are new messages to be read or whatever? I sort my stuff well enough but NO ONE looks at the recently added, they just go to what they watch. Is it worth it to add a message of the day or something so you dont see people get frustrated when they have to sort through thousands of things…
And let me explain about the “thousands of things” I’m not going to sort my 25000 movies to appease users, and same with tv and cartoons, if they dont want to (for cartoons and tv) rely on the plex sort (which i dont understand, (and i am not talking movies) if i have two tv shows or cartoon series with the same text in the name, it only brings up one. so I’m asking if theres a way we can make it to tell users there’s new stuff without them bitching cause whatever client they use the search wont work (oh and i’ve personally seen the windows client and android not find what im looking for unless i manually go into the category and find the name).
i just want to know if we can have a way to say hey here’s whats new if you’re lazy or you cant see whats new that I SEE ON MY SERVER showing new.
I’ve had people tell me they cant find movies on my server that are there when they use the search bar (i dont understand, they show up for me) so that’s why i’m asking if we can just make a message that they can click ok to. I mean in 1987 when i ran a C64 bbs it had a MOTD and you clicked ok and never saw it again and it used maybe 1MB of storage and the 64k* ram. Would it be that hard to make something like this? im not asking for boards to post anything, just a logon message
