Server Version#:1.20.2.3402
Player Version#:3.13.14
We wonât be updating the current app, but the upcoming replacement (which is currently in preview) is supported.
To access it choose âEnable Early Accessâ in the user options menu of the current app. If you want to return to the old app, select âLeave Early Accessâ from the user options menu in the preview version of the app.
Iâm on 3.13.14 - I canât sign into the app because clicking/selecting âsign inâ does nothing. I can access settings but I dont have a user options menu in the settings i can access without signing in. fun catch-22. any tips?
I have the exact same issue on 2 TVs. Server Version#:1.20.2.3402. Player Version#:3.13.14. Iâve attached pictures showing the error of Plex not being reachable, as well as the system info from both of my TVs. Also, Iâve connected one of the TVs to the hotspot from my cell phone to make sure it wasnât a problem with my network, and it still had the same issue. It seems there has been some type of update to this app that is causing this that needs fixed. As mentioned by MrCapgras, there is no option in the settings to change anything related to Enable Early Access.
Same problem here. Seems like we may be stuck ? I sure hope not.
If your TV is not a SmartCast model, the issue is probably a result of this:
Unless Vizio updates itâs firmware on those TVs, this is likely to be a permanent issue. Even if these TVs were still supported by Plex, we wouldnât be able do anything on the client to get around this.
@ruuk Thanks for the response and the clarification. I missed that announcement, but it looks like that is exactly the issue. These TVs are 5ish+ years old so I highly doubt Vizio is updating anything on them. Looks like Roku is my way to go now. Thanks again.
@ruuk I know this is no longer supported but i was hopeing until xmas and i get my kids 2 new tvs I would be able to downgrade my media server to an older version but this is not working I even went to as old as version 1.16.xxxxx and still have the same issues, do you know a version that does work and are some files not being deleted when i uninstall that have the new network security checks? Sorry i am not an IT guy but could you provide me with a temporarily fix?
wanted to add that the plex version on vizio is 3.13.14
Going back to a previous local server version wonât fix this. This is on Plexâs cloud side, not your local server. Your TV has to authenticate against the Plex cloud before it can talk to your local server. As your TV is now no longer supported, your fix is to get a different streaming device.
IMO - Donât buy a smart TV. They are anything but smart. Get a streaming device, like Amazon FireStick, Apple TV, Google ChromeCast, Nvidia Shield Pro. You can replace a streaming device for a fraction of the cost of a TV. Your TV isnât broken, itâs just rendered obsolete long before the screen itself is dead.
