I have had this problem happen twice and wanted to bring it to others attention and wondered if others have had this experience as well. I am reluctant to call it a PMS Playlist bug as it could be an IE or other type of error.
I have created several playlists however this has happened on the same playlist which is the most common playlist that I use. The first time it happened I thought it may be related to the number of items in the playlist however I have another playlist with more items but I do not delete any items from that playlist which may be the difference.
Problem Description:
- Create playlist
- Add items (movies) into the playlist
- Sometime after watching the movie remove the item from the playlist
1st time:
- I had approximately 100 movies in this playlist (movies I intend to watch)
- As I had watched a few and not deleted them yet, I went to delete about 5 movies
- From IE on the PMS server, I successfully deleted one, then when trying to delete the second one it did not appear to delete the movie, so I deleted it again. This resulted in the movie next in line being deleted instead. I selected the home icon then some time later added another went to watch a movie in the playlist and no movies existed in that playlist. I verified the other playlists were fine
2nd time (approx. week ago):
- Same playlist
- I deleted a movie, it did not delete, so recognizing this as the same initial occurrence as my previous playlist problem. I exited the playlist (home icon), then went into the playlist only to see no movies listed in the playlist.
- I had some 180 (+/-) movies in that playlist this time, there is no way I can remember all of those movies that I flagged as wanting to watch again… …
I have created a new playlist with another name to avoid any problems with the problem playlist and will try this again as well as keep a nightly backup copy of the contents of the playlist.
OS = Win7 SP1 (fully patched <minus the Win10 AnnoyTheF’CrapOutOfMeWare virus>)
PMS = v0.9.16.6 (I have not updated to the latest update yet as I have not had the time to be prepared based on the issues of the last (-1) update issues.
IE = 11 (fully patched, however this happened prior to the recent June Updates)
