Issue with artist and pictures

so I’m putting audiobooks in the music folder as there is no audiobook folder not the issue.
when they first load in they list as various so i manually change though not all load in that fashion but for one artist i put “annabelle chase” and it forcibly changes to “annabelle playe” and cant be fixed?
also half of the books have posters from a different book and no others load not sure what to do there rather not have to google every book for there poster?
any help is appreciated heaps thanks in advance

When you change the artist name is there a gold colored lock? something like this:

If no then be sure to tick that and save.

If you want to change the artist you can go to the three dots menu and choose Match and then find the artist you want.

If they are not there than they aren’t in the database that Plex pulls from so you will need to manual entry into the artist block and then hit the save lock pad. This should keep your artist locked in and it shouldn’t change.

For the audiobook poster its the same drill. At the book level hit the three dots and then go to match and see if you can find it there. If you can’t then you will have to manual entry it. If you are going to manual entry it. I recommend you save the image to the file folder instead of drag and drop the image into Plex. Something like the example below.

The image here named cover is the cover of the audiobook/podcast.

i tried the match and it only searches music and these are audiobooks so it didn’t work and the lock doesn’t show at all on the artist the album has it but not the artist
i just noticed when i change it it dose change but almost immediately changes back on its own.

As you have noticed already, Plex has no explicit support for audio books.
Which means you are using the existing support for music.
But that means you will have to bend Plex a bit to do what you want.
And that will only work reliably, if you make use of embedded meta tags in your audio files and put them into a supporting folder structure.
And then you need to instruct Plex to prefer the information from your meta tags, instead of primarily trying to find suitable information on Musicbrainz.

This works best if you create a wholly separate section for audio books, instead of trying to combine music and audio books together.
