iTunes playlist import with ratings, etc. ? Help

This question has been asked so many times its impossible to weed through all the various questions and comments, so I apologize if I am hitting old ground:

I can’t for the life of me import my iTunes playlists into Plex. I did successfully once about 5 years ago and now those are well outdated. So I deleted my old playlists, changed all my itunes playlists to basic(not smart), made sure iTunes Plugin was marked in Plex, tried both with and without sending the path directly to the Music Library.xml. And nothing. I even tried moving the XML file to Dropbox and back. Restarted Plex. Nothing. Always get “There was a problem importing”. I even tried this Soundiiz thing and I can’t use it because I don’t have remote access setup. Which I also can’t seem to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It would be great to also get the ratings. But I mostly want my playlists. Everything plays fine on Plex, just need the info from iTunes. Thanks.

I have spent literally hours trying to import an itunes Library into PLEX and keeping the ratings. I have tried many permutations but the ratings do not come across. The music files, iTunes and Plex Server are all on the same Windows machine. I have set up the iTunes plugin and selected import from iTunes etc but nothing comes across. Ir should be a straight forward process but it does not work. I am going back to Kodi which is a shame as there is so much about PLEX that is good but I am not going to spend days re-rating all the tracks.
