Hi all,
First of all, Plex is really cool! I’d like to edit the code to do a ‘jukebox’ mode. The rules will be:
If you select a song, it is added to the queue instead of playing immediately
If the queue is empty, it plays from some pre-selected playlist
Any tips on how to start?
Is this different from the default add to playlist behaviour?

I am not aware of how to activate this ...
Have a look at http://wiki.plexapp.com/index.php/Keyboard
of particular interest
q key: add item to queue
spacebar: show/hide playlist
comma and dot: previous/next item
I don’t think it will do #2 though.

This is great. I'd like to tinker with the code to make queuing the default and only behavior. In other words, when people select an item, it is added to the queue rather than played immediately. This is for a general audience and I can't assume that I'll be able to instruct them on which keys to press.
You could use an apple remote and edit the keymap so that only the functions you want are available.
Then hide the keyboard and leave the remote. With only 6 buttons people should be able to figure out what to do.
