My libraries sometimes have a large quantity of entries which are lumped under certain letters because of the header tags on the files. For instance the file might be something like:
“[Blahmedia] My super favorite series - 01.mkv”
And after a while the library may accumulate hundreds or thousands of items in the “B” part of the browse list. This makes browsing through the list rather cumbersome especially when there’s a title I don’t recall enough for a direct search, but perhaps I remember that it starts with or contains a particular string of characters. What I’d like to see is in addition to the normal search features, there should be a “jump to” feature which will take us to a particular spot in the browse list. So you would be able to type in a partial match string and it would basically put you at the location of the closest match in the browse all interface preferably from your current location.
Have you seen the Custom Filter feature? In Plex Web, go to your library and click where it says “All”:
On the dropdown, select Custom Filter…", which brings you to this:
Hi, thanks for the response. I am familiar with custom filters. I use them when I’m at my PC. The functionality I desire however is a little different than using custom filters. If I used custom filters, the results returned would basically be search results rather than moving to a spot on the browse all results.
Additionally, the custom filter functionality is not available from the SmartTV client at least from what I can see. And I would really like the jump to feature for the TV client. It’s not as big of a deal when I’m sitting at my computer since I can grab and drag the scroll bar to move around quickly on the web interface.
