Here’s the use case: I’m running Plex on a Windows machine, but all of the media is currently residing on a NAS. I’m planning to rebuild the NAS, and during that process, I may need to change the UNC path to the media. However, the media structure will remain the same. Is there a way to update the root UNC path, without losing all of the metadata? I have a Plex pass, if it matters.
But you should be able to keep the UNC path stable since you can freely change the machine name, share names and folder names of your NAS.
I recommend you to completely close/quit/shutdown Plex during all of this.
