There is a pinned thread called “Known Issues”, which is great but it only contains hard bugs. This is meant to be a list of “issues” that are not software bugs but major steps back from the previous software with regards to usability:
- TV overscan and new navigation don’t play nice together. After the upgrade it took me 20 minutes to find any content. There is overscan on my TV and I don’t see the up icon on the navigation buttons on the top. I’m sure others have the same issue. Maybe critical buttons/icons should not be on the edge of the screen because of overscan.
- Fast forward and rewind have been removed in place of skip 10 seconds (or whatever the time is). This sucks for skipping large areas because you have to click many, many times and there are no thumbnails to let you know where you are. The skip feature is definitely nice, but has major disadvantages. Having both would be great but if only one is possible, I personally think fast forward and rewind are better than skip.
- If you click on any item on the overview pages (recently added, on deck, etc.) and then click back, focus is reset to the home button. This is infuriating and a border line software bug. I can’t believe this hasn’t been fixed yet. Ever time this happens I want to throw the remote at the TV.
