Last.Fm matching artist issue

Server Version#: 1.19.4.2935
Player Version#: Web 4.30.2

My Plex Server can’t find the “Carla” artist in Last.Fm database. The artist name is pretty simple : Carla. Here is her Last.Fm page : https://www.last.fm/fr/music/Carla

When I try to associate the album, the search results are empty (tested with and without year) :

When I try associate the artist, there are only two search results, which are not what is expected :

I also tried the “regex” trick by adding a “+” or “*” character in my search filled, but it didn’t help.

Here are my mp3 tags :

Here are how my songs show up in Plex :

I checked my logs in /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs/Plex Media Server.log but I didn’t find any useful information except :

WARN - No matches for search

and some debug information.

Any idea ?

I can provide more DEBUG log but it’s just some HTTP request to the /system/agents/search local Plex API with no error.

Lonely, I feel so lonely …

Nobody has an idea ?

Are you really sure that your music library is using last.fm as its primary data source?
What does appear under Scanner and Agent when you edit this library and go to the ‘Advanced’ tab?

Part of the issue is also, that last.fm doesn’t handle well different artists by the same name.
If you take a look at the album list of this artist, you’ll see lots of albums by different singers who also go by the name Carla. https://www.last.fm/music/Carla/+albums?order=most_popular

I have now added links to last.fm and allmusic.com to the artist record on musicbrainz.org which is ususally the key to a successful listing in Plex.
These changes take several days before they can be used by Plex though.

Hi @OttoKerner, sorry for the delay.

Today, with an additionnal analysis from my part, I found that Plex can update the agent music library.

After this update, the search is successful.

Perfect !
