Hi, I have an old RPI A with 256Mb. I understand that they are not supported anymore but I do recall running early Rasplex versions on it without too many issues. I cannot find any reference in the newer version’s release notes about dropping support of the 256Mb versions (I could only find down to 0.4), so I assume it was prior to 0.4. Can anybody tell me which version I should be using and where to find it? I understand I should get a better RPI but I cannot accept binning this legendary piece of kit.
Thanks
Why don’t you give it a spin, the latest release, to see whether and how it’s functioning on your RPi A?
Oh, and the RPi2 in combination with Rasplex is a wonderful experience. It’s instant, fast, and very responsive. Even RPi1, model B suffers from lag, where RPi2 corrects this
Buying a new RPi doesn’t mean you have to ditch the old one. Lots of funny things you can do with it, besides using it as a media player.
Hi Jeroen!
The website states it needs 512Mb and It definitely doesn’t work, I have tried!

All you end up with is a blank screen. Read other posts for confirmation.

Look on the Rasplex GitHub repo under releases, you will probably have to go back to 0.3.x, terribly slow and stutters a lost. Waste of time really.

Okay, clear. Sorry for my misinformation. Like you said, Raider, the information on Github doesn’t go beyond 0.4RC1. There is a download link to 0.3.9RC1, just no changelog.
This might be a change in OpenELEC, the core OS Rasplex is using. Not sure though.
I see the two 0.3.9 rc’s but the gz files are 3Kb. Inside the archive there are just empty folders, looks like those releases were not properly committed to Github, or am I missing something?
I have found 0.3.1 on source forge:
