Are the perma links for grabbing the latest download? Looking for a simple link such as http://downloads.plexapp.com/plex-media-server/latest/plexmediaserver_amd64.deb, no versioning. This way my Chef cookbook can keep my plex constantly up to date without me having to update it with new version numbers each time.
Also, it would be nice to have indexing enabled on the downloads folder. The indexing allows us to see what versions are available to download, in case a downgrade is in order. Right now I don't think there is a list like that?
I'm afraid it's not possible currently. The "latest" version would also depend on whether or not a user had a Plex Pass subscription.
In the future, we do hope to make accessing archived versions of the software easier. For now, we have a [Downloads Archive](https://plexapp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/200287708-Downloads-Archive) on the support site.
I have a Plex Pass and I am trying to downgrade. I recently upgraded my server to the newest version 0.9.9.10 and my agents are lost. Can you please provide a link to the download of 0.9.9.9 as some users have said that has corrected their issue. All I am able to find are the link like the one posted above but they only go to 0.9.9.7.
Thanks!
coolhandluuk,
The Downloads Archive only includes public releases, not all preview releases.
0.9.9.9 is very unlikely to resolve your issue. In fact, 0.9.9.10 was released specifically to resolve an issue that could cause what you're experiencing (on particular NAS devices, I believe); it was an extremely minor change from 0.9.9.9.
Have you tried [resetting your system/framework bundles](https://plexapp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201119258-Resetting-System-and-Framework-bundles)?
If you still have issues with missing Agents, I recommend grabbing your [Plex Media Server.log](https://plexapp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201643703) file and making a new thread or posting in one of the existing threads about your issue (rather than this thread, which is about a different issue).
Hi
is it possible to provide a latest download link (normally done using a sym link) ie
https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server-new/latest/debian/plexmediaserver_amd64.deb
If its still different if you have a plex pass it should be possible for there to be an authentication to get the pass version.
should always return the latest version, this will simplify keeping my server up to date far better, and generate much less server load when i manually click the wrong thing all the time.
Many thanks for listening
Astar
