I DONT GIVE A CRAP IF YOU HAVE DIFFERENT VERSIONS ACROSS PLATFORMS AND NEEDED A DIFFERENT INTERFACE. DONT TAKE AWAY FUNCTIONALITY FROM THE END USER. GIVE ME AN INTERFACE THAT HAS THE INFORMATION I WANT, WHICH U TOOK AWAY
IM NOT PAGING THROUGH YOUR STUPID FORUM FOR CHANGE LOG. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME
Even if the website structure hadn’t changed, you would still not be able to see any previous versions.
As of the release of PMS 1.0 all previous versions of PMS have been removed from the archives.
Plex shares our community’s passion for enjoying media across all devices. As new features are developed and existing functionality is improved, continuing to maintain and provide support for previous versions diverts resources away from making Plex better for everyone. To ensure we’re efficiently allocating development resources across all devices, we will be making some changes to the availability of our Plex Media Server as noted below. By focusing our efforts on the future, we can work to bring exciting new functionality and incorporate community feedback in ways that add value for everyone!
As part of this focusing of resources, versions of Plex Media Server prior to 1.0 will no longer be available for download
Meruem, I am sorry that this has caused you some inconvenience, we didnt come to this decision easily, and at this time we dont have any plans to change it, however I will relay that information to the powers that be.
While I’m not quite as upset as the OP, I too would like to have a single page to reference for the changelog. I find this very helpful in knowing when to upgrade and what changes or fixes have taken place.
No. That should take you to the latest notes. If you don’t check in a long time, then there may be a few posts you need to go through, but then again, if you aren’t checking very often, there isn’t a need for a quick link.
Also, you could check the notes in Plex Web next to where it says there is an update.
If there’s an update to the Server available, when you go to Settings > Server, there’s a button that will show you the changes in the new build. This button does not appear if you are up to date.
I did not take a nap yet
WHY DID YOU REMOVE PREVIOUS VERSIONS? Those will be desperately needed by many people. Take my case for instance. I am running Plex Server on QNAP. Any version past 9.12 cannot be used because it causes the server to crash every few minutes. Also on another server (Ubuntu 14.04) I am running version 9.12 x because anything past that causes high CPU and transcoding issues (did not try the version 1.0 yet but 9.17.x still has that problem). I cannot understand why would you completely remove these links. It is a real slap in a face. I was always a big fan of yours but this is really terrible. Is there a new management in Plex? Was there a spyware in previous versions? WHY??? TELL ME WHY would you remove the possibility to download any previous versions of your product. Especially if it gets more problems with each version. Please put these back. How the hell am I supposed to upgrade to version 1.0 knowing that there is no way for me of coming back to a version I know that works. WHYYYYY? Jesus Christ I need to let as many people know as possible not to use this anymore. And how about people who are running devices which you now stopped supporting? They have no way of reinstalling Plex because they cannot get installation package of a version which worked on their device. WHYYY?
