Hi Chuck, the pdf you linked is for dolby vision.
however both your points seem to be referring to dolby atmos.
I know it is confusing, but atmos is AUDIO, dolby vision is video (basically dynamic frame by frame HDR metadata, versus HDR which is static HDR by the whole movie).

I’m sure it’s not really the case as I have no insight the the internals of Plex, but customizing the player to the extent that you’ll have difficulty upgrading the base player doesn’t seem like a good idea from the outside.

TL;DR - tried newest exoplayer with profile 7 patch but Shield still can’t play them as DV

I enabled the new Exoplayer and now the movies are playing but I cannot see it on TV. Is there a way to disable Exoplayer and choose another player? (version 7.27.0.15018 and Server 1.16.5.1554)

I updated to version 1.18.5.2309.
What is 5.11? Do you mean 5.1.1 lollipop? I’m not aware of any specific issues, but yeah that is getting kind of old. What kind of device do you have? Is it a cheap Chinese knock off. These were not made very well back in the day. I would not be surprised if things don’t work well.
Any progress on this matter? I’m anxiously waiting because i have two Nvidia Shields ready to be updated and used as my daily drivers for tv watching.
