Latest PMS shows threads are waiting in db connection held by threads

Server Version#: 1.28.2 and 1.29.0
Player Version#: NA

My Plex server is showing a lot of these messages in debug mode. The longer it’s up the more show up with accompanied “slow database” messages as well.

Started to show up in 1.28.2 and still showing on 1.29.0. Any idea what it is and how to stop it?

Need the full debug logs ZIP please. It’s not possible to diagnose snippets
Given this is docker, please include Host Distro, Version, and CPU info.

If you can, please give approximate movie, episode, song, and photo index count.

I think they are diagnostic in nature but will see.

I should have caveated, the only reason I went digging through the logs and found that is because plex now seems to randomly hang for anywhere for 1-5m when these entries start to stack. something that didnt’ seem to happen in the previous version.

Engineering got back to me.

These messages are diagnostic in nature.

Engineering is investigating (trying to find) a database deadlock issue.

At the moment, the messages are a bit verbose. They’re going to clear that up a bit.

Pay no attention to the messages in the logs.

If PMS does deadlock on you, Capturing the logs ZIP file, with those messages, will provide valuable info as to the root cause of the deadlock

I can generate some. What I can say is since the last update the EasyAudioEncode seems to be consuming crazy CPU and causing high iowait, which is strange given I’m using RAM (/dev/shm) for the temp transcode directory.

If you can recreate that within a couple minutes worth of video (from start) and then be able to share a dd cut off that video which recreates it…

(I’m not sure how it should work but ‘high’ is relative given it’s from Dolby and not anything we can influence.)

The same for me, I only noticed these errors while checking for some random hangs. While I’m glad these are only diagnostic in nature there are again database slowdowns / hangs since 1.28.2 and up.

Is there a way to DM the logs or just post them here? I’m noticing a lot of “DatabaseFixUp” messages, and most seem to involve smart collections or categories.
