Latest Updates Question

Been running Plex for ages. Seldom ever an issue. With the latest discussion of Roku changes, I’ve discussed it a lot with a fellow Plex Server user privately. I’ve noticed in the Blog several new features, specifically all the user data that is made available. I’ve noticed in the forums discussion about an update to Roku for Plex Pass users.

My fellow server user I’ve discussed this with says he has all these new features. I do not. He mentioned to make sure to set the download path to “Plex Pass”. I remember eons ago seeing this and having it set that way. In looking at my setup, I find that I have the following on my Plex Windows 7 Server:

Under Server Update Channel, I see “Public” and “Beta”. Mines been set to “Beta” for ages. There isn’t a setting for “Plex Pass”. I recall seeing that long ago, but haven’t thought much about it.

My version says Version 1.14.1.5488. It says I’m up to date. I switched my Update Channel to Public and it says I’m up to date. Switched back to Beta and it sstill ays I’m up to date. Logged off and back on and it says I’m up to date. I see none of the new features discussed in the blog regarding all the new stuff you see with users. I searched Roku for any Plex updates and see nothing new, still the same UI I saw that got pushed out a week or so ago.

At this point, I’m beginning to wonder what the heck is going on. I went to the manual downloads on the web and saw that my user has the “Plex Pass” switch set to “On.” Downloaded the latest file that says its version 1.14.1.5488-cc260c476. Uninstalled Plex, reinstalled this version (which says Dec 14, 2018.

I see nothing new. None of the new features. Obviously I’m doing something wrong, but cant figure out what.

Just wondering if I have the newest version, where the new features are, and how the heck to find the new Roku client I have seen discussed.

I would have spent awhile figuring all this stuff out myself, but after the latest Roku UI fiasco, I have no clue how well any of this stuff is working, I just no I don’t trust much of the software anymore. Sad, since I have never had an issue with Plex in years and never saw a need to come to the forum for answers.

Probably something stupid I’m overlooking in my own frustration.

The Tidal support (as the newest feature) is right there, at the left - bottom.

Aah, you mean the dashboard.
You must use this version of the web app https://app.plex.tv/desktop
until the bundled/local web app has been updated.

So, what did I miss? Never found anything to tell me to go somewhere else to d/l?
