Hello,
I am a music lover and listen to music mainly through my headphones. I only hear better on the right than the left, so I am always looking for systems that compensate for my hearing problem. (Unfortunately there’s no hardware/software option on my equipment
However, as far as I know there is no volume balance in Plexamp to do this. I would love to see this added in the future.
Things like this should be compensated on the operating system level. Otherwise you’d need a balance fader in every single app. Which doesn’t make much sense.
Most operating systems already provide a balance fader.
On Windows, you’ll find this in the properties of your audio interface.
Android and iOS also provide one in the operating assistance/accessibility settings.
I’m sure other operating system have a similar system-wide setting.
I’m aware of system-wide settings, but these are not available. PLEX is running on my Synology NAS and I’m streaming to a headless plexamp on a Pi Zero2W. The usb output of the Pi goes to my AUNE dac/amp combo.
In other server softeware like Roon or Logitech Media Server, the feature of balancing left and right is available. I would like to use Plex as the only media server in the house (and on my server). The missing “balance” feature keeps me from using Plexamp.
Thanks, there are several ways to do this in linux/raspberryOS using ALSA, but depents on the sound card that is used if this is possible. AFAIK this is not an option for USB devices, hence my feature request
