Leverage User History for playlists/collections

This question is in response to the following feature request which I do not see gaining much traction. With the advent of Plex Home that delete episodes after watching feature doesn’t quite work the way it used to…

Is there a way to leverage that user history which we get from the dash to create playlist or collections. So far I can’t see a way to do it, but I could be wrong…

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but when you create a smart collection you can choose to have its filters always be based on the admin’s data or the user’s data viewing it. When you edit a smart collection the settings is on the Advanced tab

But this is an either or right, and not a both… So either create it as admin or user ABC?

Let me tinker around with this idea. Could work. Will report back… Thanks for that @BigWheel

all the filters will be associated with one or the other if that is what you mean

You can’t do something like where it is a collection of the admins 5 star rated items but the things the user as unplayed. since both the 5 star and the unplayed filters would be based on the users data

Agreed. But I’m hoping I can then leverage multiple collections and playlists to achieve the objective…

Just discovered how drunk with power we Plex admins are :joy:. So users in a Plex home can’t create smart collections and can’t grant access to playlists for other users in the home. Bummer. There goes that idea…
