Libraries not on my home page are no longer in alphabetical order

When I signed into Plex yesterday to add new media I noticed that all my libraries are no longer in alphabetical order. I only have a few libraries pinned to my home page, so under more> they had been listed alphabetically mixing movie and tv libraries accordingly. Now my libraries are listed movies first and then TV, but they are not in alphabetical order.

This is a known server bug which will be fixed in a future server update.

Still not fixed as of Server Version 1.21.1.3830, which just broke my library sort order.

Here is a capture of my non-alphabetized Library list. It did show in alphabetic order prior to this Plex Server update.

Same here. It has been driving me nuts. Looking forward to a fix.

When is the fix?

This new “layout” is freaking awful. I have a similar setup to your (films, documentaries, tv, yt and dailymotion videos). Trying to track down/edit individual libraries is simply kafka-esque.

And yes I think it’s unbelievably stupid to have to “drag” these libraries a few places up at a time using the suggested “reorder technique.”

Why did the developers do this? And why have they not offered a remedy? Stupid stupid stupid.

Really upset with Plex.

Just updated to Server version 1.21.1.3842 and Libraries are still NOT listed in alphabetic order like they were two weeks ago.

OttoKerner - It’s been a few weeks already, when can we expect a fix? It was fine about 3 weeks ago and more people are complaining. Just have the developers sort Library List alphabetically like it was previously.

Why was the re-ordering not fixed with this most recent update for 1/5/21?

It’s been 3 weeks with this messed up library ordering.

For such a seemingly simple f*** up it seems absurd nothing has been offered up. I selected the Beta update channel but NEIN NEIN NEIN no updates have fixed this :frowning:

Is it presumptuous of me to expect some acknowledgement of this issue? I paid for this software - however, I would definitely reverse that decision now if I could.

Would anymore mind suggesting a replacement to PLEX?

I got exactly the same issue. I got 66 libraries and after the update yesterday to the latest version (Ubuntu) all libraries are sorted randomly which is a huge mess now.

Library lists on the Windows server and Tivo client still not sorting in alphabetic order with server update Version 1.21.1.3876

I find this amazing how after this recent update (1.21.2.3939), the libraries on the home page are still not in alphabetical order.

Two months later and 2-3 additional updates later, this easy issue is still an issue. Wow, just wow.

It’s fixed with today’s update (Version 1.21.2.3943)! Thx!

Just updated to the latest public version (1.21.2.3943) and mine are still out of order. It looks like they might be alphabetical within each subcategory now, which I don’t think they even were before, but the subcategories are still separated out individually (movies, tv, music, etc.). I want the entire list alphabetical, the way it used to be, not just within each subcategory.

Yep, feel the same.

Created a feature request here:

I feel this is more of a bug rather than a feature request…

Unless having them in no discernable order (to a human) is expected behavior and they have no plans to change/fix?

The order should now be by library type then alphabetically within the library type, at least that is what I see now.

Which is what Plex have decided we get, so I don’t think it is going to be classed as a bug, its a new feature!!!

Hence why I created the feature request, not that | really expect it to make any difference… but you can but try…

It’s working as intended, Library Type in alphabet order

Do you speak for Plex?

Is this documented anywhere? I never heard this was happening. It went from sorting all libraries alphabetically, to totally screwed up, to now our current state.
