(Library) Inform me of new seasons / episodes

Hi,

Plex knows the shows I watch, is there a way for Plex to check TVDB for episodes I’m missing?

Like what Sonarr seems to do but without the downloading.

I do like the idea… but where and what should Plex check this?

  • video available for streaming
  • video available for sale as DVD, Blu-Ray, 4K UHD-BD
  • video on the air for your DVR
  • video available in your country / language

I consider the scenarios you can see in the internet are mostly ads (e.g. IMDB promoting streaming/purchasing from their parent company Amazon).
Don’t get me wrong… I think it’s a tempting feature – just not sure where to start looking without leaving every user with a 2 page set of settings to configure this and requiring a whole new category of “advertisers” (as counterpart to the agents to pull metadata for a file).
