Server Version#: 1.19.3.2764
Player Version#: 4.30.2, Android Player: 8.0.1.17410, and many other players.
Server installed on local storage in a Ubuntu container.
I have many library files that played fine previously on 5/9/2020. The following day (5/10/2020) a variety of random files no longer play from Movies, and TV Shows. I made no server updates or changes to those files in question.
Deleted DB and started from scratch to re add my media libraries
Added Media to library again
After re adding some media files they play again. However some files are still not playing from Plex. These files all play fine directly from the Ubuntu system with the Totem Movie Player.
Some additional information that I noticed is that if a TV Series is impacted it is all the episodes in the series. Any assistance to get Plex to play these files again is appreciated.
I was able to resolve the issue. It was an issue with my ports and once I corrected the issue with my ports and redeployed the container everything works.
Another update, this was a temporary solution. It seems the original issue is caused when I import a large music library that has a large number of FLAC files.
Every time I add my music library to Plex it causes this issue where a portion of my video library will not play. To resolve this I have to remove the music library, re-deploy the container and am able to play videos.
If anyone from the Plex team is willing to assist I’m more than glad to reproduce the issue and provide logs or anything else needed.
I did some more searching and investigating. Since this occurred while adding a large music library I found a solution.
Solution:
Add music library in small intervals, after each addition I optimized the database until the entire music library is added.
I am a little concerned to be a PlexPass Member and have absolutely zero input on my post from the Plex team. I hope the Plex team is more responsive to others in forum threads, especially since this is the support model they are emphasizing.
