You can setup a Photo Library and a Video Library but if you have photos and videos mixed in a folder can you set up your Photo Library to see both the pictures in the photo folder as well as the pictures over in the video folder?
I have a video camera that will also take still pictures. I’ve organized my folders by the type of cameras that took the picture and the date the files were downloaded. One folder has photos taken by all my still cameras and another folder with videos and stills from other cameras.
Is there a way for a Photo Library scan to also recognize photos in my video folder?
it already should do that. as long as the top level folder is added to library. ( you can add multiple top level if needed)
gotta be honest though that our support for videos in a photo library is not the best. Android player for example won’t play many phone videos correctly in a photo library.
if you select photo it should be able to find videos as well. I just tried with a random folder on my computer that had video and photos and it picked them all up.
movie libraries will only find video files without TV naming conventions
tv libraries will ignore files that do not have the TV naming conventions.
other videos will only take video files
What I would like is to have two Plex Libraries with still photos in one and videos in the other. If I understand how the Plex Photo and Plex Other Videos Libraries work. If I create an Other Videos Library and add two folders. Both with still pictures and videos it will only find video files. If I create a Photos Library and add the two same folders. Both with still pictures and videos Plex will only find still picture files. I this correct?
Also, what are the file extensions used by Plex to make these decisions?
