Having issues Loading Photos into Plex Media Server on my NAS

Anyone have a RECENT video tutorial because every video i find it has an older interface that doesn’t match mine and I can’t follow it.

I’m a newbie needing help on how to upload my photos and home videos to Plex Media Server on my NAS.

Do I have to separate my home videos from my photos into separate folders?

PLease advise

They need to be in separate folders on your file system because they need to go in different types of Plex library on your server

You can’t mix and match videos and photos inside Plex

Most people use the “Other Videos” type library for home movies so Plex doesn’t try to match them to actual movies

This isn’t exactly correct. You can’t include photos and commercial movies or TV shows in the same library, but a Photo Library will include your personal videos (that you’ve taken with your camera or phone) alongside photos in the same folder. I don’t find that convenient myself – I put videos in a separate folder and create an “Other Videos” library, as JaysPlex7 suggests – but it does work.

I want to say I tried that about 5 years ago and couldn’t get it to work. Maybe I tried to combine both inside an other videos library and just assumed neither would work

Good to know though, thanks
