Videos will show as concert / music video / live video / … on the artist page.
If that’s not working for you, your best shots are going with an other-video type library or looking for some 3rd party agent that deals with music videos (not aware of one).
Individual cartoons
Would you mind sharing some details on those?
I’m often surprised of what kind of stuff is going as a tv-show
Music clips: I’ll look at local artist feature see if it works in my case, thanks!
Individual cartoons: you have some DVD with like 10 cartoons, of 10mn, so it’s not a long 1h30mn long film, neither as a TV cartoon with serie.
Sometimes, you can find these kind of movies have been collected into a TV Show. You can then add them into a library of the type TV Shows, which enables you to organize these clips into the regular tv show structure,
Show - Season - Episode
Look out for them at TheTVDB and TheMovieDB
e.g. Disney Animated Shorts - TheTVDB.com
Thanks for your replies, really helped.
I sorted out the short cartoon thing.
I understand the local artist thing, the link you shared was really helpful, although it doesn’t work yet, adding -interview and then seeing it pop up on an artiste page. I need to dig a bit more.
Question: for concert DVD, like 1hour long files, what type of librarie & agent do you recommend? I struggle between “movie” & “other videos”. Same for agent, not really sure that “Plex Movie” works well for music DVD.
That being said, I’ve successfully converted my old concerts library to use the new “Plex Movie” scanner and agent and it works quite as well as before.
Also, i’m trying to make work the “Global Music Video Folder”, to have things centralised, and then showing up on the artist page in Plex. Question I have is, do you necessarily have all the files (.mkv or so) at the root of say ‘MusicVideo’ folder / library, or can you have a sub folder per artist and then the file inside it?
OK great.
Question:
The 'Local Artist & Music Videos" way of tagging things with -concert or -interviews at the end of the name, only work when you put the file in the same album folder (in your “Music” library") and doesn’t really work when doing it in a Global music video Folder, right?
