Music Videos/Shows -- What category to work?

Server Version#: windows latest

I have a number of music videos, music shows etc from DVD’s – what Library type do they need to be in in order for Plex to scan and add them properly? I tried just one as a subfolder in Movies – and it never get’s added. (For example – I have the US Festival, Meatloaf Behind the Music, Jim Croce’s Top Hits, etc)

Is there a specific naming convention or do I treat it as a TV Show or Personal Movie – I can’t find anything about doing this properly.

Thanks.
Brian

You can keep them with your music library. Those videos will show on artist level. https://support.plex.tv/articles/205568377-adding-local-artist-and-music-videos/

I don’t think the regular movie agents have metadata for music videos or concerts.

I use the “Movie” library type (“Plex Movie Scanner” & “Plex movie” agent) for concerts. Works very well here. Music videos like @tom80H.

Some (music, concerts etc) i place in the same (named) Collection. Good way to have everything together (ex. on concert pre-play page also showing albums) etc.
Albums are shown on movie pre-play page (when added to same collection), but movies are not shown on albums - strangely enough.

I currently have them in /Movies/Music Videos — but they are NOT being picked up by the Plex scanner

Well - removed the very first one from that folder…and now it seems to be scanning all the others. Odd.

Is there a way to tell Plex to scan a particular file?

Thanks for the feedback!
