Hi! All my media who stream over the internet are Optimize by Plex in 720p 4 Mbps… But when I use Limit remote stream bitrate at the same bitrate the Plex server is Transcoding… Why? It’s supposed to transcode just over this bitrate… Thank’s!
The streaming brain uses 80% of your limit, so 4 Mbps has a limit of 3.2. You need to set it just slightly above 5 to get 4 Mbps.
@MovieFan.Plex You are saying that in order to get a 4Mpbs stream remotely with OM versions without transcoding we need to have a value of 5.1 for upload speed? That 5.0 won’t work for a 4Mbps file? (80% of 5Mbps = 4Mbps, right?)
I don’t know how precise the calculation is so I would set it just a bit higher to ward off any potential rounding issues.
Some logs and XML info of the relevant files would be helpful in understanding exactly what is going on here. Additionally the values of Internet upload speed as well as Limit remote stream bitrate would be helpful.
