I'd like to have a possibility to link sequels, trilogies, etc. with each other.
You can use the "Collections" feature for this.

Themoviedb.org already provides collection information. So, if you want to save time, make sure the 'Use collection info from The Movie Database' is checked within the agent.
To add your own collections, you'll need to edit the items in question and update the 'Collections' field under the 'Tags' section.
Once your collections are set, filtering slightly varies by what client you're using, but you should get the gist from the Plex/Web example:
For Plex/Web: Options / New Filter / Collection / Then select which ever collection you want
e.g., if I chose Back to the Future after clicking 'Collection', the section would update to only show the three Back to the Future films.
