I too thought it was a comskip.ini file issue.
Github user ‘arrmo’ made me aware of this. If it weren’t for them submitted an issue on Github I wouldn’t have looked into it.

Is there any way to preserve the metadata on comcut recordings?
I’m guessing it has to do with the unique ID changing after it’s re-encoded, but all of the metadata is missing after.
Actually a better question is, so after comchap runs, I see it writes metadata into the video with chapters. How do I actually use those chapters in plex? I’m using the plex web app with chromecast, do they only show up on android or something?
You can skip backward and forward in the web app by pressing the square bracket keys ( [ and ] respectively ).
I’m not sure if that works while chromecasting though.

Sweet! THANK YOU!
Yeah it works perfectly with chromecast as well!
Too bad there’s no way to do it like comskip in WMC, where it auto skips the comericals when it hits them. but this is perfectly acceptable, thank you again
You could just use comcut instead of comchap to remove the detected commercials. Then there’s no need to skip anything during playback.

I’ve had comskip screw up on me before and match too much, would have to disable auto skip in WMC to be able to watch the show at all.
I’d guess comcut would just delete the whole section of the show if that happened.
lawd! My kingdom for a PPA for comskip. Running Ubuntu Trusty with outdated ffmpeg. Frustrating
