Linux PMS + PHT on intel NUC

Hi,

I wanted to build a PMS and PHT together on Linux. This will run on an Intel NUC i5 last Gen. (so more than enough power).

It is to “feed” only one TV, so don’t need to have it always powered on for using with other client (ipad or other). Will be connect directly on the TV.

Got a NAS (not a beefy one who could host PMS) which contain the content

What’s are your recommendations ?

Openelect + PHT and install PMS package on it ?

Ubuntu  and install PHT and PMS package  ?

What is the easiest solution ?

I searched the forum and saw that a lot of people wanted to get PMS +PHT on the same linux box but didn’t found a lot of people document this .

Will probably add a second partition for a windows or some other linux services on it in the future but this is another story.

just saw that i should have posted this in the

please feel free to move this topic.

Hi,

I'm running the PMS and PHT on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. The PMS Installation is pretty straight forward. Just follow the PMS Installation Guide on plex.tv

I've installed PHT following this Guide: https://forums.plex.tv/topic/110971-definitive-intel-nuc-how-to-guide-surround-sound-over-hdmi-apple-remote-graphics-part-2/

Which works perfect. I'm not using a nuc, but a Intel DH87RL and i3 CPU. The steps needed are the same.

What is the easiest solution ?

Easiest?  Run Windows on it.
