Linux/Ubuntu local disk shows enormous space usage by PMS

Server Version#: 3.69.1
Player Version#: N/A

Running PMS on Ubuntu 18 and recently noticed that deep within the file system, Plex has a ton of space taken up under a “Media Upload” folder and also some various items in a “cache” folder. The path is something like: /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Cache. Thought maybe some setting I didn’t know about and certainly not sure why this is happening and if safe to delete. Do have quite a diverse range of end clients that stream and some do sync (mostly music(but none of these seems to be in my music categories)).

Is there some setting for this? How could this have grown to almost 70gb as shown in this snapshot?:

Are you creating chapter thumbnail images? These take up a huge amount of space .
You can check if they are being created in the Advanced tab for each Library section.

If it’s enabled, disable it.
Also click the “DELETE” button to remove them.

Thanks. Did that, but the file sizes are still persisting there. Anything further I can do or somewhere else holding this info?

Additionally, what does this sync stuff hold at and how can I better manage it? See snapshot:

Is there also a way to path this stuff elsewhere on a different disks within my server? My OS drive is only 120gn, but have another 16tb’s elsewhere if I can manage the location for these types of things.

What will probably help you the most, due to all the sync’d content is to relocate the Plex Library
directory.

Easily done.

Here’s the How-To
