Hey is there a list anywhere? I checked the FAQ and the only app that supports h265 seems to be Xbox One ?
I know the Samsung App will direct play but don’t know if there is a list, but plex basically asks the device what it can or can’t play and if the device tells plex that it can it will direct play.
Look in these folders:
PC: C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources\Profiles
Mac: //Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Profiles
I’m under the impression that the higher end Roku devices (4/Premiere+/Ultra) can do this as well. It’s been working out well for me on the XB1 and I plan on replacing my other 2 non-mobile clients with the Premiere+ as well so I can make the general move toward HEVC in my library.
Odroid C2 running OpenPHT can direct play HEVC in any resolution.
RPi2 running OpenPHT will direct play HEVC up to 720p
