So, it’s on the roadmap (actively being worked on) for the mobile apps.

It now very much looks like Plex is trying to move away from Playlists and push us onto a data capture feature. I’ve been wondering why Plex has been dragging their feet to re-add Playlist management.

The above seems to contradict your assertion.
