I build a simple nas system for my archive with pi zero w bu I know plex not supporting on this device.
We need lite version for low powered cpus such as pi zero w’s armv6.
Simple features enough like;
File indexing,tagging/matching
Subtitle download.
Audio track selection.
Tv app support >> that is important
No need transcoding,dlna etc.Direct play working well on local network.
I can make these with lighttp+php+ffmpeg+sql but your system very stable, I have to start from zero. And I have no knowledge about tvapp programming. I’m not a coder just a noob script kiddo
I made samba share, index my files and share with kodi’s upnp/dlna feature.

It’s because that’s not the direction plex want’s to go. I mean they are still focus on creating the UNO interface and want all clients to have a unify app. To mke a new just for you(and me and a few others) just won’t do it.
Though I never understood why people(dev’s) think we(users) always want something separate. It can all be in the same app. Like advanced mode/ normal mode. I mean, it’s not like the devs can’t comprehend the idea. They use it in the PlexWeb interface. But whatever. If I don’t like it I can go somewhere else or simply buy the company up then take it in my direction…
