After installing v. 1.18.4.2171 on my DSM my Samsung TV was unable to tune to any live tv channel. when selecting live TV in plex, only 8 icons appeared and the normal local channels were no longer present. the more icon at the end was also not present. I was able to access the channels using the channel guide on Windows 10 computer. To watch live TV I reverted back to 1,18.3.2156 which allowed the local channels to return to the live TV and DVR button or menu. After about 3 days I started to receive an “Play Back Error-Could not tune channel, Please check tuner or Antenna.” Now both the Samsung TV and Windows 10 computer would not tune any station, but still had an active guide in windows 10. After deleting the HDHomerun Quatro tuner and adding the HDhomerun DUO Scribe Box, the Live TV returned to normal in both the Windows 19 and Samsung TV devices. I’m not sure if this is a Plex or HDhomeRun issue. but it’s funny that the DUO will work and the Quatro will not Tune after reverting back to 1.18.2.2156. Any Ideas?
I had the same thing happen when I upgraded my plex software and I have an older HDHomeRun Prime. The only thing I have been told so far is that the “More” tab is just gone and to downgrade my server version. I’m glad I didn’t do that since reading your thread, since I haven’t had the error of the channels not tuning, but this is something that needs to be rectified asap.

With the latest Plex release, Live TV will still not show all of the OTA channels using Samsung TV Tizen 4.0. There are only 5 or six OTA channels available out of 100 channels on HDHomeRun app. On a computer one is able to access OTA using the Guide function and able to access all 100 OTA channels. Reverting back to v. 1.18.2.2041 will fix the problem for now but one is unable to take advantage of the last two updates.

I updated my DSM with Plex V 1.18.6.2368 and I’m still not able to view local or Live TV on my Samsung app. on a computer I have the guide option and all live TV channels are present as well as using the HDHomeRun App. I have had the same problem with all updates since Plex V. 1.18.2.2058 which I’m forced to revert back to. This is the only way I’m able to view all of the Live TV channels on the Samsang TV. I know that the Samsung does not show the Guide which would be nice to have but not having access to any of the local TV is worse. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue.
As you can see the last icon will allow more “on now” channels, this is not available with the lattest plex update. Also the “on Right now” menu of shows changes as you can see I have the major Bay Area networks here, but with the new Plex versions, I’m unable to watch the major networks using this format. The networks are gone from plex and the “More” button is also gone.
After installing Ver 1.18.7.2457 on my ds918+ had the following results on my Samsung TV Plex app 4.19.2.
This is the 1st time that the More button has returned since the 1st of the year and as the title says, “Shows on Now” The communication from the HDHomeRun to the Samsung TV will not display the major networks that are on “NOW” These shows do display in the header “starting soon” but with this option you can only set the DVR options. In Ver 1.18.7.2457 the more button shows 46 channels of shows but no news channels or major networks. In Ver 1.18.7.2058 installed on my synology server selecting the More button will show 74 channels to include the major network channels as well as news. From a computer all of the channels are available using the “guide” with both versions installed. I have attached two photo’s above to show the difference of the two software versions installed on my DS918+, the top photo is Ver. 1.18.2.2058 and the bottom photo is ver 1.18.7.2457. I have installed the new Software that has been available up to Ver 1.18.7.2457 and always have had to revert back to Ver 1.18.2.2058 to obtain the ability to watch the major network channels that are displayed in the photo above even though the correct metadata is incorrect. I will say that with the latest version installed that this is the first time that I’ve seen the “More” button return on my Samsung TV and the menu’s are very good with the exception of not showing the all of the channels from the HDhomerun box to include the Major Networks and News channels. So now I can see all of the OTA shows on “NOW” but not the news and major Network shows “ON NOW”
one other item to note is with Ver 1.18.2.2058 installed the title bar is displayed as “On Right Now-Live TV & DVR”. With Ver 1.18.7.2457 installed the title bar is displayed as “Shows On Now-Live TV & DVR”.
It looks like this is getting better but for now I have reverted back to Ver 1.18.2.2058 unless you can tell me how to display and watch the major networks in the top photo.
