HDHomerun - Could not tune channel

Server Version#: 1.18.1.1973
Player Version#: PlexWeb

HDHomerun connect quatro. Worked this morning, but can no longer tune any channels. I’m getting an error ‘Could not tune channel’ on every channel i try. I’ve removed and re-added the tuner with the same results. The tuner works via app on a Fire stick, so i know the tuner is working properly.

I can reliably reproduce the below errors when trying and failing to tune a live channel.

Same here, looks to be an outage.
I’m on Windows 10 and I can’t access live TV via the server, Roku, or Android devices which is pretty much everything. Gives me the same error code. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the server, restarting the router, restarting the computer and same issue.

This is all local to my network though. Not clear how some outage on their website would affect local traffic. Maybe i grossly misunderstand how Plex actually works?

I’m guessing it requires something from Plex for it to work. When I use the hdhomerun app the TV is working fine.

Apparently so. I guess i’m glad i’m not the only one having the issue. Thanks for confirming.

@darcilicious seen you online recently. Would this be causing live TV not to be working? There’s a couple of us that are having this issue but not everyone. Tried clicking on the ? On the server status but it doesn’t really explain what it does. Thank you!

Not too many people are having the problem. So here is my logs if someone can look them over and see whats going on. Plex Media Server Logs_2019-11-06_22-54-42.zip (6.7 MB)

Here is a cleaner log. Plex Media Server Logs_2019-11-06_23-17-42.zip (4.7 MB)

I have reported the status to the Operations team.

Sorry about this.

Looks like it just came back online my TV service and the www.plex.tv - WPEngine. Wish I knew how that affects my TV service on my server, but I guess that goes over my head LOL.

Still not working for me.

What network card are you using?

Because the only other thing I did that might have got it working was I changed from my Roswell 10g network card to my motherboard ethernet port and it seemed to instantly start working but then as soon as I check the Plex server status it said operational so I don’t know which one it was.

Also my Plex web Version updated to 4.12.2 at the same time lol.

I’ll have to check to be sure when i get home, but it’s a Debian VM on a Proxmox host so i believe it’s a VirtIO NIC in the VM… but the host NIC i’m pretty sure is a Mellanox 10g.

Also check your plex web version.

Plex web version is 4.12.2 just like yours.

Okay. I was able to go back on my network card and it’s working fine now again. But I did realize before I pulled it off the 10g network card that a 4-bit transcode was registering on Plex as a hundred megabits. Must have been some type of screw up with the card and router.

Okay, confirmed that the VM is using VirtIO NIC, but i was mistaken on the host NIC:

06:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82599ES 10-Gigabit SFI/SFP+ Network Connection (rev 01)
06:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82599ES 10-Gigabit SFI/SFP+ Network Connection (rev 01)

I guess i can try changing out the VM NIC for an E1000 or something to test, then try going back to a copper GBE connection for the host if that doesn’t work, but can’t do that until later. Seems a little extreme to have to change NICs to get it working again. Very odd indeed.

At least based on my error, there seems to be some sql issue with a missing column, but i’m not clear if that’s just a red herring.
