Live TV/DVR in Greece?

I am trying to setup liveTV on my Plex server in Greece and I don’t see it in the countries list. Hence, I can’t complete the setup.
I assume that has to do with the lack of a publicly accessible EPG in Greece, however one can get EPG info directly from the DVB-T tuner (as other PVR programs like DVBlink do out of the box).

Any workaround to make this work? I am mostly interested in Live TV

Thanks,

It can be a couple things:

For Gracenote EPG issues report them here You can try a different nearby EPG and see maybe its missing in gracenote?

I believe you can just make you own custom mappings if you want as well.
To setup your own custom XMLTV file use using something like MC2XML try this

Since Plex doesn’t seem to want to support the DVB-T EPG, the workaround that I found is the following for live TV in Greece:

  • Install and configure TV-Mosaic
It will grab the EPG data from the DVB-T stream. (ERT channels have complete information, from the private ones Star, Open and Alpha seem to always work, SKAI and ANT1 not always (at least in Crete)

  • Grab the XMLTV EPG file from TV-Mosaic as described here: https://forum.tv-mosaic.com/viewtopic.php?t=246 using wget

I run Plex on a Synology NAS box and I have added a scheduled task to refresh the XML file every 3 days.

Unfortunately, I haven’t found any reliable EPG source for Greek TV. Tried iptv-epg.com twice without success and the channels do not adhere to their published schedules anyway, which makes recording very problematic. But Live TV works fine via Plex now.
