My LIVE TV-DVR does not work at least I cannot figure out how it works. I would appreciate any help! Here is what I am doing:
Set up PLEX DVR
It sees my USB AVerMedia Volar Hybrid Q antenna
I click continue.
Scan channels—it acts like it is going to try to scan them but then I always get the error message NO CHANNELS FOUND. MAKE SURE YOUR DEVICE HAS A SIGNAL FROM YOUR ANTENNA AND TRY SCANNING AGAIN. This is the only message I get. My antenna is working because I have a TABLO hooked to the same antenna and I get many stations from this same antenna.
Windows: “WinTV 8” (for WinTV tuners) or “AVerMedia TVBox” (for AVerMedia tuners) software might conflict with Plex Media Server’s use of the tuner. If you have issues tuning channels, please remove this software, install only the driver for your tuner, then attempt to scan channels again.
What do you mean by tuner software? I have the hdhomerun installed, and no where have I ever seen that I need any additional software for this?
My HDhomerun stopped working today, and when I go to add it again plex sees it but when I set up the Live TV & DVR it displays the channels but then when I enter the language and postal code I am unable to continue–it freezes at that point and I cannot get it set up. Plex does not see the tuner…
I have no idea what you have installed on your computer and didn’t say you had a “need any additional software for this”.
Plex is not the only software able to connect to a tuner. If you read the link I posted above there is software called WinTV8, VerMedia TVBox and SiliconDust/HdHomerun makes their own tuner software that has nothing to do with Plex. I was saying if you did have any other software isntalled then try uninstalling it.
Well, that wasn’t directed to you, it was directed to another poster who seem to indicate that he had third-party tuner software installed in addition to Plex.
I suggest that you start off by at least posting your PMS version number and OS it installed on.
I’ve used DVRs on my media server for years and have owned three HDHomeRuns–because it was compatible with a Mac–but each would fail after the warranty expired. The last time around I decided to try Tablo. I’ve had the Tablo for a couple years now without a single hiccup. I just wish it would work with Plex.
