I saw that the AVerTV tuner was on the supported list. (here https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/225877427-Supported-DVR-Tuners-and-Antennas). The tuner shows up but does not find any channels when it scans. The Stock AVerTV software however can perform a scan and get channels. Are there any tricks to get this to work?
As a PlexPass user, you have access to a forum section “DVR and Live TV”.
It’s often more helpful to you to search a specific subsection.
You likely have a software conflict.
From the wiki page you link, it notes at the bottom
Windows: “WinTV 8” (for WinTV tuners) or "AVerMedia TVBox" (for AVerMedia tuners) software might conflict with Plex Media Server’s use of the tuner. If you have issues tuning channels, please remove this software, install only the driver for your tuner, then attempt to scan channels again.
And, as found in a thread in the DVR/TV section of the forum, seems someone fixed their similar issue following instruction from that same note.

- Uninstall the AverMedia app, using the uninstaller in the app itself (Start → AverMedia → Uninstall)
- Choose the top option, to uninstall the app, but not the drivers
- When complete, exit Plex Server, and open Task Manager and make sure all Plex “stuff” is no longer running (stop it if it is)
- Restart Plex Server, run DVR wizard, worked for me at that point.
Remove the software for avermedia, leaving only the drivers, and try again.
Perfect!! Uninstalled all the AverMedia programs less the drivers and I am now golden!

@pkmx - welcome - I only take credit for pointing you towards information already there. Glad I could towards the source fixes. Plex world can be complex at times, but much of the information is already out there to find.
Hate to necro a thread, but I did just as suggested - uninstall AVerMedia programs, keep drivers, close/open Plex Server software, still no go on the tuner. Ideas?
