I have Plex running on an HP Z230 windows 10 PC, with an HD HomeRun Connect Duo, 100 down, 10 up cable internet.
Everything works fine when I’m home - on my phone, on my two Rokus, etc.
But I have a Firestick with Plex at my dad’s place, and I have the Plex app on my Pixel 2 XL, and when I’m away from home and try to watch TV, I can only tune CBS and NBC; every other channel will crash the app.
This happens on both the firestick and my phone. Originally I thought it might be an issue with the Firestick, but it also happens on my phone when I’m on WiFi at work (though it works fine on my phone at home). So I’m leaning towards an issue with Plex.
When the app crashes, it will also hang up the HD Homerun so it thinks the tuner is in use which prevents any other connections for a few minutes until it frees itself up. Again, when I’m home, everything works fine and the tuner has no problem connecting any channel, and it will cleanly disconnect the stream.
It’s only the Live TV program guide that crashes. I can stream any movie or TV show from my library with no issues.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
And I can get server logs but I don’t know the best way to host them so advice there would also be appreciated.
