Live TV - M Card - Channels Missing

I have Live TV running with HDHomeRun Prime 3 Tuner M card from Comcast. I have 554 channels scanned and enabled and Plex is only showing 252 channels listed for Program Guide. I have see the full list shown a couple of times but most of the time I am missing half of the channels.

This is the same on IE and Chrome

I have 553 and 348 enabled…

This is due to channels being “protected” i.e. DRM like Startz and HBO

I believe Windows Media Center was the only DVR system that was able to tune to these kinds of channels so these channels will not be available to you via Plex.

SiliconDust’s (makers of HDHomeRun, etc.) software DVR system will work with encrypted channels (in the US). HDHomeRun PRIME - SiliconDust

All channels in the US are now encrypted and some have additional DRM encryption ontop of that which does work if you have windows media center as your DVR or LiveTv client.

See these threads on why currently it isn’t supported and the politics behind it.

It’s my understanding that there is no support for DRM encrypted channels which also have the standard base encryption.

They show up as protected in Plex and you are unable to tune to them or record from them and even with the silicondust client you are unable to tune to them either.
