As the title asks…
Live TV viewing cannot currently be shared. Only the Plex Media Server owner account can currently watch live TV.
Is this due to be changed? is it a permanent restriction?
It doesn’t work for me as there are libraries on the server account that I don’t want young children to access so live tv is pretty much useless at the moment!

It’s still in beta, I’m sure at some point it’ll be shareable. Plex doesn’t comment on any ETAs.
I would imagine this is a fairly grey area - you dont have the rights to redistribute that media, so not legal.
@teshiburu - if the master user sets programs to record, they show up in the TV Shows so there are being distributed to your family. I want to let my wife and kids watch TV and record their shows without them being able to perform metadata updates, optimize all the movies, etc. Without this, I can’t pry the Tivo out of my wife’s hands.

When will they allow all users to record?
If they don’t allow all users to record AND DELETE recorded shows, this has limited usefulness. Even if they allow ‘queuing’ to delete whereby the admin must approve the delete request, that would be acceptable.
Does it show the space remaining on the PVR location somewhere within plex?
Is there someway to make the Channel ID (network ID) show within the program guide?

Plex doesn’t release dates nor do they release roadmaps, currently working issues and feature requests or anything that would sound like transparency. Its easier to have deadlines slip when no one knows you had them to begin with.

I believe you can allow users to delete files but that is a very dangerous thing because it isn’t limited to only recorded content. An approval process would be nice but cumbersome. I set expiration on my programs i don’t want to hold forever or a limit of recordings so it dumps oldest in favor of newest.

They are supposed to be implementing a grid view for the program guide which will meet your requirements.

Users can not delete, only the Admin. I have heard of no plans to allow users to delete. I share my server with several family/friends that are not in my home. I would not want them to ever be able to delete content I have recorded.

I stand corrected. There is a checkbox setting for “Allow media deletion” but it only applies to the owner. Thank you for correcting that.
