While I am watching a show live (not scheduled to record), if I pause for 5-10 minutes, whenever I resume the live stream, it fails almost 100% in the next 10 minutes or so. The client shows ‘recording failed’ or something to that effect. Is there a way to know why? I am including logs…
thanks for that. Yes, I am able to pause indefinitely but I also think that is a problem. There is NO way that Plex can deliver an indefinite pause (not just Plex but anyone out there). I think they need to cap it (1 hour, 2 hours who knows). I don’t see anything in the docs. After the documented time is reached, it needs to start playing on its own, just like the thread you referenced.
But that is not what is happening to me. After indefinite pause, I hit ‘Play’ again, and at some time down the road (5-10 mins) it just exits out and I lose the buffer…

Yes, you are right about that. It really should be a configurable ‘DVR Setting’. I’d prefer 2 hours, but I’m sure others want 30 minutes. The auto-10 minute-resumption bug seems to be limited to Roku. But I think your report shows something also changed wrt liveTV pause/resume in 1.14 server too.
It’s also interesting (related?) that you see a playback buffer failure 10 minutes after you resume.
