Local machine not allowed when using HOST file redirect

So I configured the

List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth
192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0

While this works wonderfully accessing the server like 192.168.1.2:32400/web without requiring to login it seems it doesn’t work with a HOST redirect as :

"C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts"
192.168.1.2 plex.mydomain.com

Accessing plex.mydomain.com then requires me to login even if the route was Computer > Gateway > Server on local network. Is there a check in the code behind on the URL?

192.168.1.0/24 (number of bits in subnet) works best.

You cannot qualify further without punctuation and domain names aren’t allowed in that field

Well there is no plex-web category which is where this should have belong. Still my server is on my nas and I’m acessing plex-web on windows… This should have been on the root of plex media server, but it seems I cannot create a topic there anymore.

That being said using /24 instead of subnet mask gives the same result

May I have some background information? PMS version and NAS it’s running on?
This is a server issue, not a client issue because the server needs to allow hosts on the LAN.

  1. Settings - Server - Network
  2. Are secure connections “Required” ? You want “Preferred”
  3. Make certain there are no leading spaces in the “Allowed without auth” line. (it is fussy there)
  4. If this still does not work, please get the log files for me. Settings - Server - Help - Download Logs

Below the log. We clearly see that the plex code is validating the url in request Request came in with unrecognized domain / IP 'plex.mydomain.com' in header Host; treating as non-local and that the request comes from the allowed network Request: [192.168.2.52:50485 (Allowed Network)] . To me it looks like a bug. The request comes from allowed network it should connect as expected.

I requested the full log ZIP file (Settings - Server - Help - Download Logs)

Secondarily what is Final path: "/volume1/.@plugins/AppCentral/plexmediaserver

This is not a directory path I create nor is it any Synology standard directory I recognize.

What have you done to the default Plex installation?
