I have two Plex Media Servers setup. Both are running the latest version of PMS (1.14.1.5488-cc260c476) released on December 14, 2018.
One server is setup in my home in Missouri on local network. I have 2 HDHomeRun Connect Quad Tuners. DVR records all scheduled shows pretty reliably. LiveTV works very good too.
The other server is setup in at my brothers house in New York. There I have a HDHomeRun Prime with 3 tuners. DVR records all scheduled shows reliably and LiveTV works good from there as well.
The problem that I’m encountering has been going on for a little while so I thought that I would post about it here…
I am trying to watch a program (specifically a NFL football game) that started a little time ago and is being recorded. The program is being recorded on both servers.
When I try to watch it on my local server, the Plex Media Player never prompts me to play from the beginning. The video stream loads at current time in the live stream. I am unable to skip back or move the slider back to the beginning of the show/game and I am forced to watch it in progress at the current time.
When I try to watch the same program on the remote server, I do get prompted to play from the beginning. This is desired since I don’t always want to wait for the program to complete before watching it.
This happens on all players that I have, Windows, nVidia Shield, Samsung Galaxy 9+.
What can I do to correct the problem on my local PMS server?
