Long wanted feature: Bandwith-Control "only" for "paying" Plex-Pass???

Dear Plexteam,
i really like your Server and use it for a long time. I was waiting for this feature for ages, but now “only” Plex-Pass Memebers can use it?
Is this a bad Christmas-Joke? Anyway - christmas is ruined…
I am very dissapointed to make an essential and important feature only for “paying” Customers… bad decision…

If you like it so much why dont you get a plex pass and give the devs some money for all their work? They have families to feed, dogs to feed, and little girls to send off to dance recitals. They give quite a bit away for free but they can’t give it all or else they would cease to exist as a company.

A lot of folks seem to think EVERYTHING should be for free. No appreciation for what you actually do get for free.

And I’m very disappointed you can’t see any value in a Plex Pass. Stop being so entitled, not everything in the world is free.

Christmas is not ruined !

Don’t get your panties in a bunch boys… like almost everything on the ‘paying side’ plexpass feartures are pretty much all broken at the moment

Lets recap what us paying customers are getting

Mutltple server issues not playing content or stuttering so bad its unwatchable

The streaming brain and throttling bandwidth is completely broken and throttles local and remote and for many making watching anything even on the network impossible

Ios app no longer connects to player devices to control them… may effect you free folks too…

Sync completely broken with latest realease… wont download from servers

If we try and use trailers or preroll wont let us select a quality version for the file if it has lets say a full blu rip and a transcoded file… it goes for the low quality file and doesn’t give you a choice or wont honor the request if made through the ios app’s play version feature…

Keep your money… I should have stayed on 9.12 it was working great until I payed and moved up into 1.x versions and tried using pass features…

The openPHT client is also superior to anything plex is putting out…

Perhaps we need to fork what is still pubic and start a gitub for an openPlex server backend that actually works…

Etc … etc… etc…

And the list just keeps on growin…

Not a single thing is true for me here. Everything works perfectly.

@rzdcffs
Than you are not running the latest plex backend 1.2.7, nor ios 4.4.1 and if you think any version of PMP is better than openPHT you are not likely a person that cares about big screen multichannel amp quality…

All the above issues well documented with lots of folks…

I have had Plex Pass for years…
Running just a basic PMS with remote access from a windows i7 laptop, 100tb HDD for media.
Can stream 5-7 transcodes concurrently (Even Remotely)
have 10s of thousands of media files.

Have had virtually no problems and Plex performs extremely well for me!!

Try looking at all the techno-geek configurations we are all playing with here…
Those are the systems with most of the problems it seems.

@jjrjr1

I have been running plex since 2008

Until i payed for plexpass and was running 9.12 until Aug yes things were fine

But the latest builds are bugridden and most pass features no longer work correctly

So if you are using older releases that have not been dicked fine… but the latest are not working

Perfect example is ios remote for the front ends… anyone that updated to 4.4.1 is dicked pure and simple … wont connect to the player…

I run my servers from a mac and a linux box

My front ends are ios devices, mac HTPC and pi devices running both openPHT and official plex PMP… and PMP flat out sucks…

You link me to one post where someone actually likes it…

Problem fixed - activated QoS on my router - done - and doesn’t cost € 5.- per month :))

That doesn’t actually help your remote clients, that will just make them all pause and buffer a ton as PMS will still send the original speed to the client.

No - it dosnt - the Client is set to 4MBit and QoS-Filter gives 5MBit - flawless setting and working without buffering :)>-
