I’ve been using nuVue for Plex on my Android phones and tablets for years to get notifications when someone starts watching Plex and when new media is added to Plex. However, nuVue was abandoned by the developer back in 2017.
Are there any updated Android apps currently that can do what nuVue does? Surely there has to be an updated app similar to nuVue’s capabilities. Plex notifications isn’t really an equivalent to nuVue since it leaves a trail of old irrelevant notifications, instead of display what’s playing currently in a single notification. Also, there’s no timeline bar for other Plex clients.
NOTE: I am able to get notifications to display using native Plex Notifications as well as Tautulli+Tautulli Remote. However, unfortunately, they still aren’t an equivalent replacement for nuVue. nuVue allows for a single notification (for each Plex client), displaying relevant/current information. Notification will go away when the user is not watching anymore.
Plex / Tautulli notifications just leave a trail of old notifications all over my notification panel, making a big mess. Also, nuVue displays a progress bar timeline right in the notification, Tautulli doesn’t.
